System JO Chill is a 10 mL clitoral gel that adds a cool, minty feeling to foreplay or solo play. It's silicone-based, with menthol as the ingredient that creates the chill, and it contains no water or preservatives. JO describes the effect as a cooling tingle that builds shortly after you apply it. If warming gels feel too hot for your taste, a cooling one is the other way to bring a temperature contrast into play.
The ingredient list is short: dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, cyclotetrasiloxane, dimethiconol and menthol. The first four are silicones. They give the gel its smooth, silky slip, keep it from drying out, and are the reason it resists water. Menthol is the same compound behind the cool feeling of peppermint, and it gives the gel a faint minty smell. There's no added flavour and nothing water-based in the formula.
According to JO, the cooling sensation develops 30 to 60 seconds after application and can last for up to 45 minutes. In practice, people respond to menthol very differently. Some notice a gentle, fresh coolness; others find it strong and tingly. A small amount is enough to tell which camp you're in, and you can always add more once you know. JO is clear that it's a cooling gel, not a numbing one.
Wash your hands, then put a drop or a pea-sized amount on a fingertip. Apply it to the outside of the clitoris and the hood, and spread it lightly. Give it a minute before deciding whether you want more. Touch, a partner's fingers or a vibrator held against the area all work with it. JO directs it to the clitoral area only, so don't use it as an internal lube.
Wash your hands again afterwards and keep them away from your eyes; menthol stings if it gets there. Water alone won't lift a silicone gel, so use warm water and a mild soap when you want it off.
If your skin tends to react to new products, test a little on your inner arm first and wait to see how it feels. Start with less than you think you need. If the sensation is stronger than you like, wipe the area with a tissue and wash it gently. Stop using it if it stings or irritates.
Because the base is silicone, keep it off silicone toys, where it can damage the surface over time. Glass, stainless steel and hard ABS-plastic toys are fine. The supplier lists it as safe with latex condoms. It's water-resistant, so it stays put in the bath or shower rather than washing straight off.
Ten millilitres sounds tiny, but at a drop or two per use it covers many sessions. The tube slips into a bedside drawer or a toiletry bag without taking up space, and the silicone formula doesn't dry out in the cap the way some water-based gels can. Store it closed, at room temperature, and away from silicone toys in the same drawer. It sits alongside the rest of the System JO range if you want a matching lube.

Helpful answers about System JO Chill Clitoral Gel.
JO describes Chill as a cooling tingle that builds within about a minute, similar to the fresh feeling of mint on skin. How strong it feels varies a lot from person to person, which is why starting with a pea-sized amount or less is sensible.
JO says the cooling effect can last for up to 45 minutes. Because the base is silicone, the gel doesn't absorb or evaporate quickly, so you rarely need to reapply. A 10 mL tube covers many sessions at a drop or two each time.
Keep it off silicone toys, because silicone-based gels can damage silicone surfaces over time. Toys made from glass, stainless steel or hard ABS plastic are fine. If your vibrator is silicone, apply the gel to the body and let it dry briefly before the toy touches it, or pick a hard-shelled toy.
Wipe the gel away with a tissue, then wash the area gently with warm water and a mild soap; water alone won't shift a silicone formula. Next time use less. If it stings or irritates, stop using it.
It isn't flavoured, and JO doesn't describe it as edible, so it's not meant for the mouth. Silicone and menthol also don't taste pleasant. Save the gel until after oral, or use a flavoured product made for kissing and licking.
Not really. It has a silky slip, but it's a small-dose gel for the clitoral area, not a lube for penetration. For glide during sex, use a separate water-based lube. Because Chill is silicone-based, it isn't suited to large-area use anyway.
It's personal. Cooling gels give a fresh, minty sensation, while warming gels feel more like gentle heat. If you've found warming products too hot, start with cooling. JO's Warm & Buzzy is the warm option in the same size.
