The 1 oz JO Gelato Creme Brulee is a small bottle of dessert-flavoured water based lubricant: vanilla custard and caramel, no sugar. It's the try-it-first size of System JO's Gelato line, handy if you're curious about flavoured lube but not ready to commit to a big bottle of one taste, or if you want something that fits in a toiletry bag.
Flavour is personal. Some people love a rich vanilla-caramel profile; others find any dessert taste too sweet after a few minutes. The 1 oz bottle lets you find out without having a large bottle left over. It's also the size that travels well: small enough for a carry-on liquids bag, a nightstand drawer or a weekend kit. If Creme Brulee becomes a favourite, the 4 oz Creme Brulee is the same formula in a larger bottle.
JO describes the flavour as the creaminess of vanilla with caramel, modelled on the burnt-sugar top of a crème brûlée. The sweetness comes from sucralose instead of sugar, so there's nothing to caramelise or turn sticky on the skin. Expect a smooth vanilla first and a toasted caramel note after it. A drop on the tip of your tongue before you start is the quickest way to see whether you like it.
The formula is a short one: water and glycerin, a cellulose thickener, potassium sorbate as the preservative, plus flavour, sucralose, salt and citric acid (full list under Specifications). It contains glycerin, which matters if you avoid it; note that one FAQ answer on JO's site says otherwise, but the ingredient panel lists it. There is no silicone or oil, so it rinses away with water.
JO states compatibility with latex, polyisoprene and polyurethane condoms, and names silicone, glass and stainless steel among the toy materials it suits. It is not a contraceptive or spermicide. Like any lubricant it makes floors and tubs slippery, so wipe spills promptly.
For play in the shower or bath, a water-based formula like this rinses away quickly; a silicone lube holds up far better in water. People who dislike sweet tastes, or who want an unflavoured bottle for everyday use, will be happier with plain JO H2O. And if glycerin has bothered you before, read the full ingredient list below before you order.
If vanilla-caramel isn't your thing, the Gelato line also comes in Mint Chocolate and Salted Caramel, and the Tri-Me Gelato triple pack lets you sample several at once.

That depends on how you use it. For oral play a few drops at a time, it lasts many sessions. Used as an all-over lubricant for long sessions, it goes faster. Reactivating with water instead of reapplying helps a small bottle stretch.
At 30 mL it is well under the usual carry-on limit for liquids, so it fits in a clear toiletry bag. Make sure the cap is firmly closed, as cabin pressure changes can push liquid out of a loose lid.
Yes. The sweetness comes from sucralose, a non-sugar sweetener, and JO's ingredient list contains no sugar. It does contain glycerin, which some flavoured lubes use for slip and a slightly sweet taste.
If you like vanilla or custard desserts, Creme Brulee is the easy pick. Prefer something fresher? Mint Chocolate has a cool spearmint note. A Gelato triple pack lets you test three before buying a larger bottle.
JO lists it as compatible with latex, polyisoprene and polyurethane condoms, and with toy materials including silicone, glass and stainless steel. Rinse toys afterwards so the flavouring doesn't dry onto the surface.
Tackiness means the water has started to evaporate or soak in. Add a few drops of water and spread it around; the glide usually returns. If the area still feels sticky, rinse off and start with a fresh, small amount.
