Cool first, then warm

When you apply Sensation, the menthol and peppermint feel cool and tingly on the skin. As you move, friction warms the area and the cool fades into a pleasant warmth. Sliquid describes the sensation as intense, and it is noticeably stronger than many warming lubes. It's made for adding extra stimulation to play that's already going well, not as an everyday glide. Try a pea-sized amount on the clitoris, the head of the penis or the nipples first and wait a minute before adding more.

The organic, aloe-based formula

Instead of water, the base is organic aloe leaf juice thickened with organic agar and guar gum, with organic hibiscus, flax, green tea and sunflower seed extracts, plus vitamin E. Sliquid says 95% of the ingredients are organic, and the formula is certified to the NSF/ANSI 305 standard for personal-care products containing organic ingredients. It's glycerin-free, paraben-free, vegan and not tested on animals. Despite the peppermint, it's unflavoured and unscented.

Using a stimulating lube

Because it's water-soluble, Sensation cleans up with water and won't stain sheets. It feels like natural lubrication, so you can use it alone or layer a little over your regular lube for a milder tingle. Avoid broken skin, and keep it away from the eyes. If the feeling becomes too strong, rinse with water; it washes away quickly. It isn't suited to anal play, where menthol can feel harsh on delicate tissue. Sliquid describes it as hypoallergenic, but menthol affects everyone differently, so patch-test on the inner arm first if your skin is sensitive.
