The Doxy Die Cast R is the rechargeable wand version of Doxy's flagship Die Cast, made for people who love the deep, rumbly vibration of a full-size metal wand but are tired of hunting for a socket. This Stardust White model keeps the cast aluminium body and full length, and swaps the cord for a USB-charged battery.

Full-size wand, no cable

Most cordless wands shrink to fit a battery, and lose some of their rumble along the way. The Die Cast R keeps full-size proportions: the listed body length is 37 cm, with a 6 cm head and a 16 cm body circumference, and it weighs 690 g. That length lets you reach comfortably from the side or from behind without stretching, and the weight lets the wand rest on the body so your hand and wrist do less of the work. Without a cable you can move from bed to sofa, or change position halfway through, with nothing snagging.

Battery and charging

Doxy lists about 60 minutes of run time at full power from a 4-hour charge, delivered by a USB charger with a 1 m (3 ft) cable. Lower settings should draw less power, but Doxy only quotes the full-power figure, so treat an hour as the guide. Charge it fully before the first use, and top it up after a long session rather than leaving it flat in a drawer. If you regularly use a wand for well over an hour at a time, a corded model is the steadier choice.

How to use a rechargeable wand

Start low and over fabric. A wand's broad head spreads vibration across the whole vulva rather than one small point, which many people find easier to relax into than a pinpoint toy. Move the head in slow circles, then hold it still where it feels strongest. A few drops of water-based lube on bare skin make the glide smoother. For a non-sexual massage, use it on the shoulders, thighs or calves through clothing, or with massage oil on the skin.

Attachments and what it won't do

Doxy states that Doxy 3 attachments are not compatible with this model, so the G-spot, prostate and sleeve caps made for the Doxy 3 range won't fit. Think of it as an external wand: use it on the clitoris, around the perineum, along the shaft of the penis or on tight muscles, and choose a dedicated insertable toy for internal play.

Looking after it

Wipe the head and body with a damp cloth and mild soap or toy cleaner, then dry. Doxy doesn't publish a waterproof rating for the Die Cast R, so keep it away from the bath and shower and never rinse it under the tap. Keep the charging port dry, and store it where sharp objects can't scratch the white finish.

Helpful Information

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about Doxy Die Cast R Rechargeable Wand - Stardust White.

How long does the Doxy Die Cast R battery last?

Doxy lists about 60 minutes at full power after a 4-hour charge from flat. It doesn't quote figures for lower settings, so plan around an hour per charge and keep the USB charger by the bed if your sessions tend to run long.

Can I use the Die Cast R while it's charging?

Doxy doesn't say it runs on the charger, so assume it doesn't and charge it before you need it. If you want a wand that runs indefinitely from the wall, the Die Cast Max Plug-In is the corded option.

Do Doxy 3 attachments fit the Die Cast R?

No. Doxy states that Doxy 3 attachments are not compatible with this model, so the G-spot, prostate and masturbator caps for the Doxy 3 series won't fit. Use the wand as it comes, for external play and massage.

Is the Die Cast R waterproof?

Doxy doesn't publish a water rating for it, so treat it as not waterproof. Keep it out of the bath and shower, clean it with a damp cloth instead of rinsing it, and make sure the charging port is dry before you plug it in.

How does the Die Cast R compare with the Die Cast Max Cordless?

Both are full-size cordless Doxy wands with metal bodies. The Die Cast Max Cordless is the newer design, and Doxy lists eight intensity levels, a travel lock and an IPX4 splash rating for it; the Die Cast R's listing doesn't cover those details.

Is a full-size rechargeable wand too heavy to hold?

At 690 g it has real weight, but that weight lets the head rest on the body so you don't have to press. Support your elbow on a pillow, or lie on your side and let the wand sit between your thighs while you adjust the angle.

Is the Die Cast R a good first wand?

It works as a first wand if you want full-size power from day one. Start on the lowest setting with fabric between the head and your skin. If you'd prefer something smaller and lighter to learn on, the Doxy Go is a compact option.
