We-Vibe models compared: which one fits your plans?

We-Vibe Sync O couples vibrator in purple silicone with its retail box

Most We-Vibe questions we get start the same way. Someone has three models open in three tabs, they all look like small curves of silicone, and the photos don't explain what changes from one to the next. The We-Vibe range makes a lot more sense once you sort it by when you plan to use it: during sex, on a night out, or while you're in different cities. Pick the moment first and the model mostly picks itself.

Below are the six we point people to right now, with what each one does well and where it falls short.

Do you want it on during sex, or before?

This one question sorts most of the range. The Sync and Chorus models are worn by the receiving partner during penetration: one arm sits inside, the other rests on the clitoris, and there's room in the middle for a penis or a toy. The Jive 2 and Moxie+ are made for the hours before, when you're dressed and out of the house. Shared Touch sits in its own corner, external for both of you.

If you're torn, think about what you'd reach for in an ordinary month, not on an anniversary.

Which couples vibrator stays put once things get moving?

The complaint we hear most about C-shaped toys is drift. The outer arm loses contact as soon as thrusting speeds up, and someone ends up reaching down to fix it. The We-Vibe Sync O is the model built around that problem. Instead of a solid inner prong it has a soft loop that rests just inside the entrance, and that loop anchors the toy far better than a prong. The hinge holds whatever angle you set, so close it a little if the outer arm keeps lifting.

It runs up to about 150 minutes per charge, it's rated IPX7 (fine in the bath), and it comes with a remote as well as app control. The downside is depth. The loop is shallow, so if you want something filling, look elsewhere. You also have to squeeze the loop to place it, which takes a try or two on your own before it feels quick.

The Sync Lite is the stripped-back C-shape: one button, the app, and no remote at all. Through the app you can set each arm's strength separately, a nice detail on the entry model. But it's only splashproof (IPX4), and We-Vibe lists about 45 minutes per charge, so plug it in the day before. We suggest the Lite to couples who are curious about the shape and don't want to commit to the full-featured version yet.

Is the Chorus Pro worth it over a Sync?

That depends on who's holding the controls. The Chorus Pro ships with a squeeze remote: an air pocket you press harder for stronger vibration. The remote also vibrates in step with the toy, so the person holding it feels roughly what their partner feels. Two motors in the outer arm run three wave-style patterns that We-Vibe calls Fusion Wave (patterns 8 to 10 of the ten). There are Touch Sense modes too, which react when your bodies press together.

The box includes a charging case, and We-Vibe quotes up to 120 minutes of play with about 90 minutes to recharge. Who shouldn't buy it? Anyone who wants a toy they can switch on and forget. There's more to learn here, the remote has its own built-in battery to keep topped up, and couples who've never used an internal toy together usually do better starting with a Sync.

What works when you're out at dinner?

Two very different answers, depending on whether you want internal or external sensation.

The Moxie+ clips into your underwear with a magnet and sits over the clitoris. There's no harness or strap involved. It holds firmest in fitted underwear made of thinner fabric; loose cuts let it slide around. It comes paired to its remote straight out of the box, and that remote runs on a CR2032 coin cell, which isn't rechargeable, so keep a spare in a drawer. One detail people miss: Moxie+ goes to sleep after 30 minutes with no input. The app can stretch that to four hours, which matters if you plan to tease through a long evening.

The Jive 2 is internal. It's an egg shape with a bendable outer tail that keeps it pressed against the front wall while you move. It also comes with a remote, pairs with the app, and the brand lists up to two hours of play per charge. For people who prefer internal sensation, it's the stronger pick. If you mostly respond to clitoral contact, skip it, because the Jive won't give you much there.

Before a night out, give either one a dress rehearsal at home: sit through a TV episode in it, then walk to the corner store and back. A toy that feels fine lying on the bed can feel very different on a restaurant chair. And test the quiet settings in a silent room: the low modes disappear under clothes, the strongest patterns don't.

Is there one we can both feel without anything going inside?

Yes, and it's the odd one out. The Shared Touch sits between you. A ridged side rests against the penis, a curved side fits against the clitoris, and you move together with slow, grinding motions. It's external only, with ten intensity levels and eight patterns set from the buttons or the app. It's IPX7, measures 13.8 by 6.84 by 4 cm, and runs up to an hour per charge.

The trade-off is positional. It rewards close, rubbing positions and gets lost in anything that puts space between your hips. There's no remote either, so changing settings means reaching for a phone or the toy itself.

The six models side by side

Model Made for Controls Watch out for
Chorus Pro Sex, with one partner steering Squeeze remote, app More to learn
Sync O Sex, staying in place Remote, app, buttons Shallow loop
Sync Lite Trying the C-shape Button, app About 45 min; splashproof only
Jive 2 Internal wear out of the house Remote, app Little clitoral contact
Moxie+ External wear under clothes Remote, app Needs fitted underwear
Shared Touch Both partners, external Buttons, app No remote

Will the app connect when we're in different cities?

Every model here works with the free We-Vibe app, and long-distance control runs over the internet once your accounts are linked. Up close, the toy talks to one phone at a time over Bluetooth, with a range of roughly 30 feet in a clear line of sight. Walls cut that down.

When a long-distance session fails, the usual story is that one partner shows as offline even though both phones are online. Our advice is boring, but it works. Update the app on both phones, pair and send the partner invite a few days ahead, and run a five-minute test before the night you've planned. First-time setup is the worst thing to attempt in the moment.

If distance is the main reason you're buying, battery life matters more than features, and the Sync O, at up to about 150 minutes, lasts longest of this group. Our app-controlled toy collection has other brands if you'd like to compare.

What lube goes with these?

Water-based. Silicone lube can wear down the surface of silicone toys over time, and every model on this page is silicone. Wash with warm water and mild soap after each use, let the toy dry fully before charging, and keep the remotes away from water even when the toy itself is waterproof. Our water-based lubes are the easy match.

We're writing a Lovense guide next, and we'll link it here once it's up. That guide is live now: our Lovense buying guide compares the Lush eggs, Ferri and the Nora and Max 2 pair.

Frequently asked questions

Which We-Vibe is least likely to slip out during sex?

The Sync O. Its inner arm is a soft loop that rests just inside the entrance instead of a solid prong, so it anchors better when things speed up. If the outer arm still lifts, close the hinge a little; it holds the new angle.

Does the We-Vibe app work long distance, and what if my partner shows as offline?

Yes, a partner can control the toy over the internet once your accounts are linked. If one of you shows as offline, update the app on both phones, re-send the partner invite and do a short test a few days before you actually need it.

Which We-Vibe can I wear out to dinner without anyone noticing?

Moxie+ if you want external vibration (it clips into fitted underwear with a magnet), Jive 2 if you prefer internal. Both come with a remote. Try the low settings in a quiet room first: they're hard to hear through clothes, the top patterns less so.

Can the partner who isn't wearing it feel the vibration too?

With the Sync models, yes: the inner arm vibrates along the shaft during penetration. If you both want to feel it fully, the Shared Touch is built for that, with one side for the penis and one for the clitoris.

Do I have to use the app, or does it come with a remote?

The Sync O, Chorus Pro, Jive 2 and Moxie+ all include a remote, so the app is optional. The Sync Lite and Shared Touch have no remote; you use the buttons on the toy or the app.

What battery does the remote take?

The Moxie+, Sync O and Jive 2 remotes use a CR2032 coin cell that isn't rechargeable, so keep a spare at home. The Chorus Pro squeeze remote is different: it has its own built-in rechargeable battery.

Can I use silicone lube with a We-Vibe?

Stick to water-based lube. Silicone lube can wear down the surface of silicone toys, and all of these are silicone. Rinse the toy afterwards with warm water and mild soap.
