The XR Spark is a slim prostate vibrator that adds electro-stimulation to the usual buzz, controlled from a wireless remote. With 4.1 inches to insert and a 1.4-inch widest point, it's the more compact choice among XR's e-stim plugs, made for people who like a manageable size but want more than plain vibration.

Size and shape

The plug tapers to a 1.4-inch widest diameter, then narrows to a 0.8-inch flexible neck before the flared base. That neck matters: the plug can shift slightly with your body instead of pressing on one spot, and the flare keeps it from travelling too far. Overall it's 4.7 inches long, so it's discreet enough to wear while you move around, and the base stays outside.

Two kinds of stimulation, run separately or together

Vibration has four speeds and four patterns. E-stim has three levels and five patterns. XR designed the two to run independently, so you can let the vibration hum along while the e-stim pulses on its own rhythm, or use either one alone. At the low end the electro sensation feels warm and buzzy; at the top it's a sharp, muscle-tensing pulse. Work up slowly and give each step a minute.

A first session, step by step

Go to the toilet beforehand and lay a towel down. Warm the silicone in your hands, coat it in lube and insert it slowly while lying on your back with knees bent, or on your side. Leave the remote alone for a few minutes so your body relaxes around the plug. Then try the lowest vibration, followed by e-stim at level one, and keep the session short the first time. Breathing slowly and pushing out gently as you insert makes everything easier.

Using a prostate vibrator with e-stim safely

Keep e-stim below the waist. Don't use it with a pacemaker or other implanted device, with a heart condition, during pregnancy, or on irritated skin. Use a water-based lube or e-stim gel, which XR recommends, and apply enough to coat the plug evenly. If you feel stinging in one spot, stop and add lube.

Who will like it, and who won't

The Spark suits someone who can already take a small plug comfortably and wants to try e-stim without a large toy. If you've never used anything anally, start with a non-electric plug from our prostate massagers and come back later. If you want a cock ring included, the Shockwave adds one; for a curved shape aimed more squarely at the prostate, see the Volt.

Water rating and cleaning

The Spark is rated IPX6. That covers sweat, lube and rinsing under a running tap, but it isn't a submersion rating, so keep it out of the bath. Wash with warm water and toy cleaner before and after each use, pat dry, and store it apart from other toys. The remote takes one AAA battery, not included.

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about XR Spark Slim E-Stim Vibrating Prostate Plug with Remote.

Is the Spark e-stim prostate plug good for beginners?

The Spark is XR's most approachable e-stim plug, with 4.1 inches insertable and a 1.4-inch widest point. It still suits people who've used a small plug before rather than total beginners. Start on vibration alone, add e-stim at level one, and only move up once that feels easy.

Can you use the Spark prostate plug in the shower?

Yes, the Spark is rated IPX6, so splashes and a rinse under the shower or tap are fine. It isn't rated for submersion, so don't use it in the bath or leave it sitting in water. Dry it fully before storing to keep the silicone clean.

What does e-stim feel like in the Spark plug?

In the Spark plug, low e-stim settings feel like a warm, tingling buzz, and higher settings become a sharp pulse that makes muscles tense on their own. It's very different from vibration. Because the jump between levels can surprise you, change one step at a time and wait before going higher.

What lube works with the Spark e-stim plug?

Water-based lube or e-stim gel works with the Spark, according to XR. Both carry the current evenly. Avoid silicone lube on this silicone plug, and use plenty of whichever you choose, since a dry patch concentrates the e-stim sensation into one sharp spot. Our water-based lubes all qualify.

Can you run vibration and e-stim at the same time on the Spark?

Yes, the Spark's vibration and e-stim work independently, so you can run both at once at different settings, or use either alone. A good routine is low vibration for warm-up, then low e-stim layered on top. The single wireless remote controls both functions.

Who should avoid e-stim toys like the Spark?

Avoid the Spark and other e-stim toys if you have a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, a heart condition, epilepsy, or are pregnant. Never use electro play above the waist. If you have any medical question about e-stim, check with your doctor first rather than testing it.
