Buying adult toys in Edmonton: sex shop or online store?

Edmonton has in-person adult stores, and they're worth a visit if you want to hold a toy, judge its size in your hand or ask staff a question face to face.

Shopping at an online adult store suits you better if you want:

More choice: more than 80 brands, including LELO, We-Vibe, Womanizer, Satisfyer, Lovense and b-Vibe
Full details: measurements, materials, charging and water ratings on every listing
Privacy: no one watching you browse, a plain box at your door and Vamoson Inc. on your card statement
Canadian pricing: prices in Canadian dollars, with no duties or customs fees

What to check before you order

Photos only tell you so much. On each listing, check:

Size: insertable length and width, not just overall length
Material: body-safe silicone, glass and stainless steel are non-porous and the easiest to clean
Power: rechargeable or battery, and how long it runs
Water rating: a waterproof toy can be rinsed or submerged; a splash-proof one can't go under water
Noise: if you share walls, look for a stated decibel level

If something is missing from a listing, email support@dreamydesire.com before you order and we'll check it for you.

Beginner-friendly adult toys, couples' toys and gifts

First sex toy: a small bullet vibrator or a beginner-friendly pick with a few simple settings. Our guide to choosing your first sex toy walks you through it.
Shopping as a couple: start with a vibrating ring or a wearable couples vibrator. Read our couples' toys guide.
Long-distance or shift work: app-controlled toys let a partner control the toy over the internet, which helps when one of you works away from home.
Gifts: a gift card or a gift set lets them choose.
Students: University of Alberta, MacEwan and NAIT students can use code STUD20 for 20% off; our student discount needs no ID or school email.
